Reverend Polly Angle

Lead Pastor

Polly is married to Steve and has three family pets, two stubborn basset hounds and one mature cat. Polly began her time as Senior Pastor at Canyon Lake UMC in June of 2021. She loves helping people make deeper connections to God as they grow their relationship with Christ and one another. Most of her conversations
(and sermons) will include the words ‘love’ and ‘transformation’ because these words breathe life! Polly loves hanging out with her husband, playing the piano, sharing in great conversation over a meal of good food, and daily doses of laughter!

Tammy Marroquin

Executive Assistant/Office Manager

Tammy is married to her best friend and love of her life Chris, they have a yappy chihuahua dog, that is very spoiled. They have two wonderful grown children and best of all they have five grandchildren, of which each one brings so much joy and happiness that they revel in any chance they get to spend time with them.  

Tammy came on board with Canyon Lake UMC in March of 2016, God has truly blessed her here at CLUMC. Have you ever heard the phrase "Do What Brings You Joy", Tammy is doing it! She treasures this special calling, as being the Pastor's assistant to help in various ways to carry out God’s ministry and plans for the church and beyond, to see all the love and transformations that breathes life in the progress of the church and even in community! It is a good feeling to see how God works in positive big and simple ways!

Tammy loves spending her time with Chris, She make it a priority to slow down and enjoying the small simple things in life, to spending time with family and friends, attending church, she does like BBQ, live music, and traveling. Tammy treasures the fellowship that she shares daily with like-minded Christian followers, and she appreciates the value of great friendships!

Dr. Owain Graham

Audio Visual Director

Owain Graham, Ph.D. (please feel free to call me Owain, pronounced like Owen) 
Except for a short stint for graduate school in California, Owain has lived in San Antonio, Texas since 2012. In San Antonio, he works as part of the music faculty at Our Lady of the Lake University, where he teaches courses in audio recording and world music. He is also on the faculty at the Musical Arts Center of San Antonio (MACSA) where he teaches guitar, drums, bass, and ukulele and oversees audio and technical support for MACSA’s Rock Band program. Since 2012, Owain has been part of the praise and worship bands at Trinity Baptist Church and Colonial Hills United Methodist Church in San Antonio. In 2024, Owain received his Ph.D. in music with a concentration in ethnomusicology from the University of California, Riverside (UCR). His research focuses on the use of music in the traditional medicine practices of the Peruvian Amazon. His research has been published in the journal Anthropology of Consciousness. He has also conducted research in the field of music psychology as part of a team at the UCR Experimental Acoustics Research Studio (EARS). This research focused on music-evoked nostalgia’s connection to affect, prosocial behavior, and music-evoked autobiographical memories (MEAMs). Owain holds a Master of Music degree in classical guitar from the UT San Antonio School of Music and studied with world-renowned classical guitarist Stephen Robinson at the Stetson University School of Music in DeLand, Forida. He is excited to be part of the team at Canyon Lake United Methodist Church and to help the Audio-Video crew support the church in worship.    

Cortney Neptune

Born and raised in Canyon Lake, I’ve been blessed to call this community—and this church—home for as long as I can remember. I’m a proud mom of two and recently graduated from Grand Canyon University. My heart is especially drawn to working with children and sharing God’s love in ways that help them grow in faith and a love for God. In all the spare time I have after tending to the kiddos, I enjoy reading, relaxing and visiting new places.

Tricia Mathis, RN

Wesley Nurse

Tricia has been a Canyon Lake resident since 1992. She began her nursing career in 1995. She joined the Methodist Healthcare Ministries family in 2014. Tricia is passionate about assisting people through their healthcare journey. Tricia loves spending time with family and friends and enjoys the outdoors and is always ready to take a trip in the RV or go on a new adventure biking, hiking and exploring.

Erin Stage

Childcare Ministry

Erin is a sophomore at Texas State University, where she is pursuing a degree in Nursing. She has always had a strong interest in health science and enjoys learning about the human body, healthcare, and the many ways she can one day make a difference in the lives of others.
Outside of school, Erin loves spending time outdoors and enjoys hunting, exploring, and making memories with family and friends.
Erin is excited to serve in the church nursery because she enjoys being around children and hopes to create a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for them. She looks forward to getting to know the children and families in the church while growing in her own faith.

Hello my name is Tabatha!
My position is a Nursery caregiver and I’m here to teach, love, care and ensure your child is safe while you are away. I am currently CPR Certified and have state-mandated training requirements for childcare through the state of Texas.
Here are some fun facts about me:
I’ve worked at a learning center for a few years and currently still do. My birthday sometimes lands on Thanksgiving. I was born and raised in Albuquerque,New Mexico. My nfl team is Philadelphia Eagles. I came from a military family.

Preschool Director

Mrs. Coffing's contributions to the Canyon Lake Methodist Preschool have been immeasurable since its inception in 2015. Her unwavering compassion for the students and the preschool have been evident in her daily interactions with her students, the community, and our church. Her unwavering commitment to ensuring emotional security and physical safety for every child and staff member is truly commendable.

Mr. and Mrs. Coffing moved to Canyon Lake in 2005 From Houston, TX. They have volunteered with several non profit organizations throughout the years, as giving back to the community is very important to them, and they wanted to pass that passion to their children by leading by example . Mrs. Coffing has three sons that grew up in Canyon Lake, and four stepchildren that grew up in the Houston area, along with six grandchildren and three fur babies. Mrs.Coffing, when not at the preschool, enjoys reading, going to the movies and finding new treasures at the thrift shops.

Nicole "Nikki" Worthey

ASSISTANT Preschool Director

Nicole "Nikki" Worthey brings nearly a decade of experience in early childhood education and has been a valued member of the Canyon Lake United Methodist Preschool family since 2019. Her journey began as a parent volunteer while her daughter,  attended Methodist Preschool. Watching the positive impact the program had on her daughter and the community inspired Ms. Worthey to return to her passion for early childhood education, and she quickly became an irreplaceable part of the school family.

Throughout her time at Methodist Preschool, Ms. Worthey has gained comprehensive experience working with children across every age group, giving her a deep understanding of early childhood development from infancy through Pre-K. She is beginning her second year as a Pre-K teacher while also serving as Assistant Director, where she is dedicated to supporting both students and staff.

Ms. Worthey is known for her creativity, nurturing spirit, and unwavering belief that every child deserves to feel loved, valued, and capable. She embraces hands-on learning with enthusiasm, believing that a little extra paint, glitter, or sensory play is always worthwhile when it creates meaningful learning experiences. Her classroom is filled with exploration, process art, music, and opportunities for children to build confidence through play.

A lifelong learner, Ms. Worthey is passionate about professional growth and continually seeks out new research, training opportunities, and best practices to share with her colleagues. Her commitment to learning, combined with her compassionate leadership and servant's heart, helps make Methodist Preschool a place where children, families, and staff feel welcomed, supported, and inspired every day.
