CLUMC Welcomes New Pastor!

Rev. Polly Angle is coming to Canyon Lake UMC with a heart for shared ministry to the community and world through her deep love for Christ and his Church.  Sharing her unique gifts of leadership and teaching, creativity in worship, and passion for all people is what inspires her to make the daily commitment to learn and grow while continuing in servant ministry. She is humbled and beyond excited about the spiritual journey we will travel together in this next season of life together.

Polly grew up in the United Methodist tradition, serving for 17 years of ministry in the Southwest Texas  Conference of the UMC (now the Rio Texas Conference). She is a graduate of Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas where she received a Bachelor of Music degree with an area of concentration in Christian Education. Polly is also a graduate of Perkins School of Theology (SMU) in Dallas, Texas where she earned the Master of Divinity. Following graduate school, she was ordained an Elder of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and served 16 ½ years as the Minister of Worship and Associate Pastor at a church here in the city, before returning to the Rio Texas Conference of the UMC to serve as Lead Pastor of Colonial Hills UMC in San Antonio, Texas.

Polly has been married to Steve Angle for six amazing years. Together, they share a love of ministry through the Kingdom of God. Steve is the Minister of Worship and Music at Bulverde UMC. They have two sweet and silly, stubborn basset hounds named Noel and Rose who have brought new meaning to the word “no” in their lives – and a very patient elder cat name Bonsai! Most of all they are grateful for the good and beautiful life they have together!
